Indiana ~ Shades State Park

I know of a mysterious, not so far off land where the sun brings all the vivid hues of fall to brilliant life and glistens like sparkling diamonds off a rushing creek.....

The beautiful, rock strewn Sugar Creek runs through Shades State Park in Indiana! The amazing 3,552 acres of this mysterious land is filled with sandstone cliffs, deep ravines, small canyons, and waterfalls too!...Oh yes!!

There are 10.2 miles of moderate to very rugged/challenging trails here that will lead you into Devil's Punch Bowl!...oh my!!...out to Inspiration Point and Lovers Leap!...amazing views!!...through Pearl Ravine, Kickapoo Ravine and Shawnee Canyon!...sweet!!...and to the cascading waters of Maidenhair Falls and Silver Cascade Falls!...so beautiful!!

Most of these trails follow rocky streambeds through deep shady, moss covered ravines and include lots of steps, ladders, steep climbs and rock hopping across streams!...sooo awesome and fun!!

The incredible and mysterious beauty here is amazing!...especially when the trees are all decked out in their vibrant fall colors!...and the woods are filled with the crisp fragrant smells of fall!...oh so beautiful and sweet!!
